iOS 10.3 Beta 3 comes with a new feature called âApplication Compatibilityâ. Here’s what it does and how you can access it.
iOS 10.3 will list apps that won’t work with future versions of Apple’s mobile software
Apple released iOS 10.3 Beta 3 to registered developers yesterday and it was likely the company would make some changes under the hood. Along with the usual bug fixes and performance improvements, iOS 10.3 introduces a neat little feature called âApplication Compatibilityâ.
How to access application compatibility
To access the new feature added in iOS 10.3 Beta, simply go to Settings> General> About> Apps.
What does it do?
The feature will scan your device and list any apps that won’t work with future versions of iOS. If there is an app that has compatibility issues, it will be displayed in this new section. Tapping on this app will take you to the App Store, showing you when it was last updated.

Basically, if the app you have installed on your device does not follow the latest guidelines set by Apple, the software will stop working in future versions of iOS. It is entirely up to the developer whether or not to add compatibility in the future. I will highly recommend emailing your app developer immediately and pushing them for an update. If they don’t comply, well, there’s nothing we can do.
Conclude
Since iOS 10.3 is a small, heavy update on its own, it is therefore likely that the software will be removed after a considerable amount of time. Since Apple is rumored to be hosting an event in March as well, there’s a chance we might end up seeing the final release sometime this month.
iOS 10.3 Beta is available for registered developers and public beta testers. The latter can access the pre-version bits by going to beta.apple.com. It’s absolutely free and the update will be sent to you over the air. This means that you will not lose your files or settings after the installation process.
