iOS 10.3.1 Strictly Focuses On Security – Update Your iPhones and iPads Now
Apple has released a small update for iPhone and iPad users around the world that strictly focuses on repairing and improving device security, nothing more. The full changelog for the update is as follows.
As you can see not much has changed, but that doesn’t mean you’re skipping the update. To download over the air, start the Settings app. After that go to General> Software update. When finished, simply press the Download and install button. Downloading the update will not take more than a few minutes with your device requiring a restart in order to complete the installation.
Besides the method of updating your device mentioned above, you can go ahead and install firmware updates from scratch. This means that you will lose your data but end up with the new copy of the operating system on your device. For details, see the following tutorial: How to Download iOS Updates Over the Air (OTA) or Using iTunes.

Since this is a small update, so I wouldn’t recommend doing an iTunes restore for a fresh start. Until or unless you are long overdue for a fresh install of iOS, only then can you go ahead and take the iTunes route for installation.
Don’t hesitate with this one, folks. Any security update is wonderful to have now.
[Update]:
Apple has now released the release notes and it appears the version fixes a critical security vulnerability. âAn attacker within range may be able to execute arbitrary code on the Wi-Fi chip,â Apple wrote in its security. bulletin.
