The final download of iOS 10.3 for iPhone and iPad is now available live and through iTunes. You can also download the IPSW iOS 10.3 firmware file directly from Apple‘s servers.
iOS 10.3 Final with Find my AirPods, bug fixes and performance improvements has been released
After a plethora of beta releases, Apple has finally pushed the final version of iOS 10.3 to compatible devices around the world. It brings with it a handful of bug fixes and performance improvements as well as a few feature additions. The full changelog for the update is as follows.
There is a lot going on in the update and there are bound to be things that are not mentioned in the changelog itself. Security patches, for example. But that doesn’t mean you should ignore it altogether, until or unless you have a good reason to.
Update to iOS 10.3 – How To
You will be happy to know that you can download the update over the air without losing your files. Just follow the steps outlined below to know how to achieve it.
- Connect to a WiFi network.
- Make sure your device’s battery is over 50%, otherwise you will need to connect it to a charger.
- Move towards Settings> General> Software update.
- Once the iOS 10.3 update appears, tap Download and install.
- To complete the installation, your device will reboot once, so make sure you have everything set up well before that.
If you want to go the iTunes route to update your device, get things started by installing or launching iTunes on your PC or Mac. You can download it by going to apple.com/itunes.
- Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC / Mac using a USB cable.
- Once your device appears in the top left corner, click on it.
- Now don’t click on the Check for Updates button. If there are any updates available, they will be downloaded and installed on your device.
Note: Please make sure you do not accidentally click the Restore iphone button. This will erase everything from your device and you will lose everything. Make sure you have made an iTunes or iCloud backup beforehand.
