Earlier today we told you that UltraSn0w 1.2.8 has been released by iPhone Dev-Team and that with its release it is compatible with iOS 6 firmware generation. That means if you have delayed upgrading to iOS 6 due to compatibility issues with UltraSn0w, now it is safe to do so. You will just need to use Sn0wbreeze for Windows or RedSn0w, which is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X to preserve your baseband when updating to iOS 6.1. Once you are jailbroken on iOS 6.1 with your preserved UltraSn0w compatible baseband, you can continue by following this short tutorial.
Supported iPhone base bands
- iPhone 4 on baseband 01.59.00
- iPhone 3G / 3GS on base bands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00
In order to see if you have any of the supported base bands on your iPhone, you will need to go to the Settings.app> General> About and look for it Modem firmware field.
