
MTN Group CEO and Chairman Ralph Mupita reiterated the group’s commitment to developing a strong telecommunications ecosystem in Ghana.
He gave assurances during a one-day working visit to Ghana to engage some key industry players in the country.
The Group CEO and his management team paid separate courtesy visits to the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Revenue Authority of Ghana (GRA) and Ministry of Finance to interact and discuss matters of mutual interest .
During the visit to the Bank of Ghana, Mr. Mupita expressed his gratitude to the Central Bank for the support given to the company over the years.
In his response, the Bank’s Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison commended MTN for the work being done in the mobile financial services sector and indicated that BoG will rely on the company to champion innovation and financial inclusion. Dr Addison was joined by the 2nd Deputy Governor, Ms Elsie Addo Awadzi.
Ralph Mupita and his delegation then called the Commissioner General of the GRA, Reverend Amishaddai Owusu-Amoah and his deputies, where he congratulated Ghana for encouraging the growth of titles last year.
In his engagements with the Ministry of Finance, Ralph reiterated MTN Group’s commitment to the Ghanaian market and the company’s continued support to the Government of Ghana in delivering its digital agenda.
This is the Group CEO’s third visit to Ghana since taking office. He was accompanied by WECA Vice President Ebenezer Asante, MTN Ghana CEO Selorm Adadevoh, Mobile Money Ltd CEO Eli Hini, General Services Manager Sam Koranteng and CFO Antoinette Kwofie.
The visit to Ghana is part of Ralph’s commitment to developing MTN’s business in the various markets by constantly engaging local authorities to understand their expectations and foster cordial working relationships. Ralph’s next stop is Nigeria where he will also engage key stakeholders.
