Digital telecommunications company Indosat Ooredoo closed the first quarter (Q1) of 2021 with a strong performance, maintaining the company’s growth momentum compared to last year.
In a virtual performance update open to media, Indosat Ooredoo saw its revenue growth of 12.6% year-on-year (year-on-year) to 7.3 trillion rupees. Cellular revenue grew 12.5% year-on-year to Rp 6 trillion, while fixed data revenue grew strongly by 15.8% to Rp 1.16 trillion.
At the same time, the corporate sector has shown signs of recovery, with Indosat Ooreedoo’s turnover increasing 17.1% year-on-year to 1.3 trillion rupees.
The company’s profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 42.5% year-on-year to Rs 3.4 trillion. The report attributes the increase to the combination of revenue growth and profitability, contributing to EBITDA margin growth from 9.7% year-on-year to 46.2% in the first quarter of 2021, the highest point in the last seven quarters.

Also in the first quarter of 2021, Indosat Ooredoo announced the signing of a sale-leaseback agreement with PT EPID Menara Asset Co (Edge Point Indonesia) for more than 4,200 telecommunications towers.
