TeraGo chooses Intracom Telecom’s WiBAS ™ G5 for its FWA expansion in Canada

TeraGo extends its FWA network coverage using its mmWave spectrum

Athens, Greece, 20 December 2021 / PRNewswire / – Intracom Telecom, a global provider of telecommunications systems and solutions, announced a partnership with TeraGo, from Canada leading national provider of corporate wireless networking solutions, for the provision of its advanced wireless solutions, WiBAS â„¢ G5 evo-BS and WiBAS â„¢ G5 Connect +, operating on the 24 GHz frequency band.

TeraGo has selected the WiBAS â„¢ G5 platform in accordance with its strategic plan to commercialize fixed wireless access in Canada using mmWave licensed spectrum. WiBAS â„¢ G5 will allow TeraGo to provide faster and more reliable services to its subscribers. As the largest holder of the mmWave spectrum in Canada, TeraGo’s objective of densifying its very high-speed access network will be achieved by point-to-multipoint (PtMP) WiBAS â„¢ G5 technology. TeraGo is the first user of WiBAS â„¢ G5 on the 24 GHz band in North America and was given priority to test Intracom Telecom’s technology, in its lab and in the field. The entire ecosystem of Intracom Telecom’s FWA portfolio has been tested by TeraGo, including the uniMS â„¢ platform, for end-to-end network lifecycle management and zero-touch provisioning.

The WiBAS â„¢ G5 evo-BS PtMP Base Station, on the 24 GHz band, can operate side-by-side with 5G systems in adjacent channels thanks to its intelligent software and compliance with established regulations for spectrum usage. WiBAS â„¢ G5 Connect + is an advanced terminal station which enables operators to accelerate the deployment of ultra-broadband service to its subscribers, and is remarkably flexible, as it is capable of operating both TDD and FDD in the spectrum 24 GHz.

“This is an exciting partnership for TeraGo as we further expand our network capabilities on a standardized platform, with a compact design for effortless deployment and contactless provisioning.” noted Osman Mohamednur, Senior Director Network Business at TeraGo. “The use of Intracom Telecom’s WiBAS â„¢ G5 solutions will allow TeraGo to go beyond what is expected to bring improved speeds, low latency and reliability to the market for Canadian businesses.

“We are very happy to partner with TeraGo, from Canada Pioneer 5G and support their vision. Our WiBAS â„¢ G5 evo-BS and WiBAS â„¢ G5 Connect + solutions, already certified by ISDE Canada, activate TeraGo to deliver ultra-fast connectivity speeds to corporate customers, in line with TeraGo’s goal of improving the overall capacity of its network ”, noted Dharminder chanana, CEO of the Intracom Telecom subsidiary in the United States, Conklin-Intracom.

Intracom Telecom’s WiBAS â„¢ PtMP technology has become the preferred alternative to fiber and copper access solutions in Europe, South East Asia, Middle East and Africa. The Company’s recent and successful FWA network deployments are with major carriers and ISPs in Italy, Spain, Indonesia, and South Africa.
